My credit card wasn't accepted, why?

Card Declined

The authorisation process is carried out by your own bank and the credit processing providers we use have no part in the subsequent decision. The decline message is sent to our payment processor by your bank with no explanation or justification.

We are a UK based company and some banks may flag your transaction as fraudulent if you are from another country. 

Other factors may be the reason for the decline, such as incorrect data entry or if the address you provided did not match the billing address for the account.

If you call your bank and tell them to authorise a payment to Recon which will show on your statement as:

Please note- our system will only allow you 3 attempts with one card. Then it will lock you out for 30 minutes then you can try again.

If you try again and still have problems we advise you to contact your card issuer and ask them to specifically authorise the transaction or you may wish to try another card if you have one.

Paying without a Credit or Debit Card

If you have a UK bank account we can accept payment by personal cheque (issued by a UK bank only) for 6 or 12 month memberships. (£30 and £50 respectively)

Please note that personal cheques from non UK banks and any cheques sent in foreign currencies will not be banked and will be destroyed.

Only 6 and 12 months memberships are available by post.
